Generational Health Behaviour Changers Foundation is a Registered Ghana-based non-governmental organization dedicated to improving the health and well-being of underserved communities through compassionate care, health education, and sustainable interventions.
Founded in December 2019 by a passionate and visionary young advocate, Mr. James Kwofie, the Foundation was born out of a desire to address the growing health disparities in deprived areas across Ghana. Our journey began with a comprehensive health needs assessment conducted in March 2020 by a team of public health experts, senior nurses, and professionals from diverse disciplines in Assakae, a community in Takoradi, Western Region.
Their findings revealed critical gaps in basic healthcare access and health awareness—particularly regarding non-communicable diseases and preventable conditions. In response, our founding team mobilized limited resources to acquire essential medical devices, including glucometers, sphygmomanometers, HIV test kits, and other screening tools.
This initiative enabled the launch of our first free health screening and education campaign, focusing on prevention and management of HIV/AIDS, hypertension, diabetes, and malaria. We also partnered with the Effia Nkwanta Regional Hospital Blood Bank to support blood donation drives—an intervention that has helped save the lives of pregnant women who might otherwise have succumbed to complications due to blood shortages.

From early hypertension detection to transforming the lives of orphaned youth, our impact is reflected in the stories of those we've helped:
A 42-year-old trader who discovered her undiagnosed hypertension during one of our community screenings. With treatment guidance and lifestyle coaching, her blood pressure is now well-managed.
An orphaned teen who received an educational scholarship through our youth program. Today, he's completing technical training in electrical installation and mentoring other youth.
A young mother who benefited from our maternal health initiative, receiving prenatal care and nutrition support throughout her pregnancy. She delivered a healthy baby and now volunteers as a community health advocate.
